Canine Assisted Therapy, Inc. (C.A.T.) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization focused on recruiting quality volunteers and their dogs who willingly dedicate their time to improve the lives of those in need. C.A.T. provides the training, evaluation, certification, insurance and education of therapy dog teams. Placement assistance for volunteer teams is provided in addition to a continuing education program which provides Continuing Education Units to professionals in the medical, human services and mental health care industries. Our volunteers not only provide the unconditional love of their dogs to those in nursing homes, hospitals and hospice, but our Advanced Certified C.A.T. Dogs assist in the rehabilitation and physical therapy of patients and the disabled.
The Pack Readers program provides assistance to children in grade school and middle school who may be struggling with reading skills or lack the self confidence to read in the classroom.
C.A.T.'s Teen Corps provides training for teens and their dogs and provides them with a fun way to provide community service with the help of their pet.
Our Senior Corps program brings a volunteer opportunity to seniors in independent and assisted living facilities, by allowing them the ability to give back to the community even if they are unable to leave their residence.
