The Salvation Army in Broward County has two transitional housing shelters, one in Ft. Lauderdale and another in Hollywood. We house 50 families with children and 60 single men and women. (See wish list for residents below)
Part of our shelter activities is a program called New Beginnings. It is for homeless pregnant women and their children. Families may stay in the program up to two years and works to overcome the problems that led them into homelessness. (see baby wish list below)
The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program provides toys and clothing to over 3000 children each December and depends on corporations and businesses to host angle trees at their sites. This is a great way for employees to get in the holiday spirit.
In addition to the wish lists, I am attaching our logo and a photo of some of the babies born in our shelter.
